I travelled with Aziz to the Car Scrap Yard, Salmi Kuwait. During the long trip we encountered the usual strong sand storm and shifting sand on the desert road. Some segments of the road were blocked by shifting sand. The formation of sand dunes was a pleasant sight though the road was cut off in some place. The highway department of Kuwait were dutifully clearing the sand banks on the highway thereby keeping the Salmi road open. The shifting sand is made up of fine sand and some lager particles, it all depends on the wind speed, direction and strength. Tumble weed is another interesting phenomenon to behold as the bulb of vegetation roll in the wind.
Apart from a few car on the road the road is generally isolated. Most of the cars that broke down here had to be abandoned.
