The centre is well known as The Mother’s House (Mayer Bari) and also Udbodhan. Udbodhan is the premier publishing house of Bengali books of Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission and has immensely contributed to the spread of Ramakrishna – Vivekananda and Vedanta Ideology through its publications.

Started in 1899 and later moved to its present home, this centre is also known as Mother’s House (the Kolkata residence of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi).
