Welcome to another How do you make your iPhone do???

I still like to make custom ringtones for my iPhone. No thanks to Apple for dumbing things down and removing or making it hard to find ways to do all the cool stuff that made apple cool in the past.
So, after creatively importing a song from itunes into garage band (i could've easily done the same thing from ANYTHING playing off the web), adjusting the levels, etc. Then editing it down to the parts I wanted (basically remixing a song keeping the best parts) - and of course keeping it under 40 seconds.

Then sharing it to iTunes - finding the file - changing the extension to m4r (ringtone)... hooking up my phone to iTunes - going to TONES - drag and drop the newly minted ringtone to the folder - unplug and voila!

oh wait, when i do the test call, it doesn't play the whole thing. GRRRRR!!! dammit!

do a little research, find out what to do and presto! NOW it plays the entire track.

So, as with some of my other videos, I decided to make a short HOW TO tutorial for others who want to do the same thing - or maybe the opposite - this video shows you how you can also shorten your ring to as short as you want - although anything less than 5 seconds is pretty ridiculous unless ibrevity is what you want.
