On Monday, 3 January 2021, US jury found Theranos founder and CEO Elizabeth Holmes guilty of criminal fraud and she faces a possible 80-year jail term.
About seven years ago, Elizabeth was America’s star girl. Forbes also briefly proclaimed her “the youngest self-made female billionaire” in 2014, until it all came crashing down. She was 30 at the time and a Stanford University drop-out when she founded a company valued at $9bn (£6.5bn) for supposedly bringing about a revolution in diagnosing disease.
