Описание: Filmed from the pit, this one logically has its obstructions, so you'd better consider whether you enjoy a concert with some blocked views beforehand.
The video was taken from a VHS tape and is a bit generated, but still decent overall. The 2003 shows were basically the last tour where there still was a transition between analog and digital transfers in the trading world and this was one of the "last survivors" of the old days.
The audio on the tape was a sound mess par excellence and didn't clear up after multiple attempts either. I did have an alternate audio source that didn't match up due to length differences though. After recalculating the speed, I did slow down the second source by 0.016% which made all the difference. It's still not perfectly fitting since I had to cut inbetween the songs anyway, but I think it's overall quite well adjusted and closer than Giants 2003, for example. The audio on this source was clearer, but still a mess with way too much treble and cymbals covering a lot of it. Since many fans had stated that the overall sound was crappy that night, I think it simply wasn't sounding too good there either. It's quite weak on the low end and enhancing it had only made it feel artificial. After like ten attempts last night, I decided to leave it close to how the original capture was and only made some minor adjustments. One could get used to it after one or two tracks though.
The show's known for us not knowing what really had happened. As you can see (e.g. during the solo in Keep The Faith), Jon's getting treatment due to physical discomfort throughout and his mood swings quite alot, especially after Richie's performance, it seems he has taken some medicine upon his return since he's much more into the show.
In fact, that concert had been on the verge of cancellation just hours before the start. During the early entrance, two friends of mine had overheard security staff near the stage talking about the show possibly not taking place "due to the singer's health".
While it seemed that things were lighting up near the end of the show, the final encore was somewhat weird again. Jon decided to go back and sing another one without really talking to the others (you see that Richie's looking at him like "what are you going to play?"). That lead to Tico and Hugh already having had left the stadium and David sitting on the piano and not knowing what to do.
