In 14th century Yuan Dynasty China, under Mongolian rule, two star-crossed lovers, Jinha and Sullie—the illegitimate daughter of a Mongolian commander—find themselves caught in a web of betrayal and ambition. After Sullie’s mother dies, her father Taruga takes her away, planning to marry her off to a powerful Chinese warlord to secure a political alliance. Jinha, discovering that Taruga orchestrated the massacre of his entire family, channels his grief into mastering the legendary Bichun Secret Art, a deadly martial technique coveted by rival pugilists. When a powerful young lord, Junkwang, unexpectedly aids Jinha in a desperate fight, fate cruelly intervenes: Sullie is betrothed to Junkwang, who, upon learning of their love, schemes to eliminate Jinha and crush their forbidden romance.
