So, this movie became suddenly very relevant after the death of Pope Francis on April 21, 2025. So, naturally, I thought it was a good idea to start editing this a lot sooner than I otherwise would have.
This was a great movie. Ralph Fiennes was positively extraordinary as Cardinal Lawrence. I've completely memorized his homily about doubt. And Cardinal Benitez (sorry, Pope Innocent) is everything I can only hope our next Pope will be. With music as sharp as a knife and cinematography as perfect as a stained-glass window, this movie was a joy to watch and to edit.
