How to make Sourdough Chocolate Chip Cookies
★ Ingredients needed:
1/2 cup (112g) white sugar
3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons (200g) brown sugar
1/2 cup (112g) butter
1/2 teaspoon (3g) salt
1 whole egg
1 egg yolk
3 teaspoons (9g) vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups (200g) all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon (4g) baking soda
7 ounces (200g) chocolate
3 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon (60g) sourdough starter
★Instructions:
-Chop dark chocolate into chunks (or use chocolate chips).
-In a small bowl, whisk together: Flour, salt, baking soda
-Melt the butter (stovetop or microwave).
-In a large bowl, combine: white sugar, brown sugar, melted butter. Stir until smooth. Add and mix in: 1 whole egg, 1 egg yolk, vanilla extract, optional sourdough starter
-Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
-Fold in the chopped chocolate.
-Cover and refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 days for even better flavor and convenience).
-When ready to bake, shape dough into medium balls (≈ 50g or 3tbsp cookie scoop).
-Place on a baking tray with space between each cookie.
-Bake for 15 minutes, straight from the fridge if possible.
-Remove from oven and optionally sprinkle with flaky salt.
-Let cool slightly, then enjoy warm.
