Biasca (303 m ü. M.) an der Kreuzung von Gotthard- und Lukmanierroute ist eine Gemeinde im Bezirk Riviera des Kantons Tessin. Sie befindet sich am Eingang zum Bleniotal, 19 km nördlich von Bellinzona am linken Ufer des Brenno. 3 km östlich liegt auf einer Terrasse des Pizzo Magno (2'329 m ü. M.) der kleine See von Carigiolo, dem der Bach entspringt, der gegenüber dem Bahnhof in bis zu 80 m hohen Wasserfällen herabstürzt. Zur Gemeinde zählen auch die Ortschaften Loderio, Ponte, Pontirone, Sant'Anna und Valle.

Die Kirche von Biasca weist romanische Skulpturen und Malereien aus dem 15. und 16. Jh. auf. Sie wurde 1213 erstmals als Pfarrkirche für das Bleniotal, die Leventina und das untere Tessintal genannt.


Biasca (303 m above sea level), located at the crossroads of the Gotthard and Lukmanier routes, is a municipality in the Riviera district in the canton of Ticino. The municipality is located at the entrance of the Bleniotal valley, 19 km north of Bellinzona, on the right side of the river Brenno. On a terrace of the Pizzo Magno (2,329 m above sea level) 3 km east of Biasca lies the small lake of Carigiolo, where the stream rises and cascades down in up to 80-m-high waterfalls just opposite the railway station. The municipality also includes the villages of Loderio, Ponte, Pontirone, Sant'Anna, and Valle.

The church of Biasca features Romanic sculptures and paintings from the 15th and 16th centuries. It was first mentioned in 1213 as the parish church for the Bleniotal valley, the Leventina, and the lower Ticino Valley.
