It was my last shot at a big mountain before the snow moved in today. This one was special because it was the final peak on my list for the Mummy Range.
Everything was going great until I was about 75 yards from the summit and slipped on a rock. I rolled my ankle and for a second I thought it was broken. I was hiking solo, so it put me in a pretty bad spot; but thankfully I had my hiking poles to limp my way back.
I made it back to the trailhead in the dark after about 12 hours on the mountain. It completely kicked my butt, but I’m grateful I made it down safe.
