Who is Saba Hameed?

Saba Hameed is a Pakistani actress and director.

She is one of the most popular actresses of Pakistan. She was one of the most successful actress of 1980s and 1990s. She got early recognition with her role of Sumbul in sitcom Family Front which broadcast for five years. Her recent recent roles are in the TV drama series Kahin Deep Jaley, Mere Humsafar and Fitoor.

Early life
Saba was born in Lahore, Pakistan, to writer and columnist Hameed Akhtar and Saadia, a film producer. She studied at the Lahore College for Women University. Her siblings include three sisters, with Huma and Lalarukh having also been actresses, and one brother.

Career
Saba Hameed started her four-decade-long career as an actress in 1978 on television and also worked in theatre from the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s. Saba has portrayed mother's role in many dramas & telefilms.

Personal life
Saba Hameed was previously married to Syed Pervaiz Shafi, with whom she had two children: a daughter, actress and singer Meesha Shafi, and a son, Faris Shafi.She is currently married to actor Waseem Abbas. Actor Ali Abbas is Waseem Abbas's son from his first marriage. Saba's two younger sisters, Huma Hameed and Lalarukh Hameed are both actresses. Lalarukh worked in dramas Mata-e-Gharoor, Andhera Ujala, Wafa, Dasht-E-Tanhai and Hazaron Raaste.

Vasay Chaudhry (born on 12 November 1981) is a Pakistani screenwriter, actor, director, producer, host, and comedian. He is best known for writing sitcoms and comedy-dramas for Pakistani televisions. He is also known for writing films. He wrote Main Hoon Shahid Afridi and Jawani Phir Nahi Ani. While Mai Hoon Shahid Afridi was an average success, Jawani phir Nahe Ani went on to become the highest grossing film of Pakistan cinema and broke all the previous box office records while earning more than 490 million at the box office. He also wrote Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2, which was released on 2018 Eid al-Adha and broke the all time biggest box office grosses record. It also went on to become the first Pakistani film to make 700 Million rupees worldwide.
