Patience Mages always needed 2 more things in my opinion: At least one more bronze mage engine and better payoff for setting up the students. Harvest of Sorrow brought both along with a very powerful NR location (and a good neutral one) and a tremendous engine in Raffard's Vengeance! The deck is genuinely good now!
