In this video, I explain whether AI will replace data scientists. AI has become better at skills like programming and data analytics, leading to predictions that data scientists will be replaced in the next few years.

In fact, the World Economic Forum predicts that data science related jobs will be the first to be replaced with AI. According to WEF, data science and analytics jobs are even more at-risk than admin and data entry positions.

However, much of this research and doomsaying is coming from people who don’t completely understand what a data scientist’s job entails.

Data science is about so much more than building Tableau dashboards, running machine learning models, and running Python code.

It’s about impact.

I have worked as a data scientist for the past 4 years, and here’s my view on whether data science will be replaced by AI.

I also explain how you can become an “irreplaceable” data scientist by gaining invaluable skills that most other data professionals lack.
