In the 2nd & 3rd extracts, I have added the quavers (eighth notes) that the 'cellos, basses etc play. This is to illustrate the direction and phrasing of the melody BUT play them in an audition only if you are invited to do so by the panel, as these notes are not printed in the bass trombone part.
Part of my series of the most common orchestral/opera excerpts requested for auditions. Filmed in Opera North's Howard Assembly Room (Leeds, UK) these videos have been created as a study aid for my students at the Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester, UK), but I am happy for them to be shared with anyone who finds them useful.
