Permute edges
Edge piece series: F R' F' R (and similar)
Sune: R U R' U R U2 R' (and mirror)

Permute corners
Corner piece series: U R U' L' U R' U' L
Single alg solve method: F' R F R' U R F' R' F U'

Flip edges: F R' F' R U' R U R' or F U R U' R' F'

Twist corners
EPS method: (F' R F R') x2 U (R F' R' F) x2 U'
Sune method: R U R' U R U2 R' L' U' L U' L' U2 L

I will definitely end up using other algorithms as well, but the ones above are the basic "must-be-familiar-with" ones.

ALGORITHMS
I specialise in solving puzzles simply, and generally use only two algorithms:
Edge Piece Series: F R’ F’ R (and similar)
Corner Piece Series: U R U’ L’ U R’ U’ L
(Occasionally, when needed, I use sune: R U R’ U R U2 R’)

I absolutely love breaking down a difficult puzzle to the point where I can solve it using essentially nothing more than these two algorithms, or combinations.
