It is merely a What if...exploring how Lee would have felt if Amanda had indeed reconciled with Joe): When Amanda leaves the agency shortly after her ex-husband returns from the States, Lee, thinking that she wants to try again with Joe, doesn't try to stop her. It is only when he is faced with the reality of no longer having her in his life that he realises how much he loves her. Besieged by memories, he finds himself unable to stop thinking about her or driving to her house just for the chance of seeing her. He is haunted by all the times he pushed her away, knowing that he has always loved her, aware that he has let go of the one person he needs the most.
