Anyway in the start, this was just some urgent task William had to do at work and being the workaholic that he is, he left the house quickly, forgetting to tell his kids where he was going which resulted in the kids getting scared and just staying together in one room while Michael sang to C.C. When William gets back he realizes he completely forgot about them and felt a little bad as he listened to Mike sing to C.C. Which reminded him of when Mrs. Afton was close to her death day so to cheer up 7 year old michael he sings the same song to him.
