Hey everyone its Erik from MAPerformance.com and today I am going to show you our brand new Catback Exhaust system, both Resononated and nonresontated, for your 2015 EcoBoost Mustang! I will explain the features and benefits, and have Jake show you how easy it is to replace the exhaust yourself on your own Mustang. And of course, we will share some sound clips and final Dyno results.
Our exhaust is made entirely from 304 stainless steel including mufflers, tips, vband clamps and mandrel bent tubing right here in the US!
It has a long list of features & benefits including:
True 3 inch to dual 2 1/2 inch mandrel bends for optimal flow.
High quality 304 stainless mufflers that will never rust with stainless packing that will not burn out or change in sound.
Double wall exhaust tips with a polished finish.
V-band clamps connect the axle back, allowing quicker and easier installation or adjustability.
Flow optimized, long transition merge from 3 inch to dual 2 ½ inch.
100% Tig welded and back purged for strength and longevity.
DEEP exhaust tone
Now, check out how to install this Exhaust! It shouldn’t take long at all.
You might need a buddy for this install. The exhaust can be quite awkward to handle by yourself. Here are all the tools you need to need to get this job completed from start to finish
3/8” Ratchet and extension
deep 13 and 15mm socket
4 hands
We will begin by removing the old exhaust
Loosen the wrap clamp that holds the downpipe to the midpipe.
Remove the 2 bolts that hold the rear exhaust hangers above the rear differential.
The mufflers should be free to remove now, the rear hangers will simply slide out.
Here is where the buddy comes in handy, slide the exhaust towards the rear to free it from the clamp. Drop down and pull forward clear of the down pipe.
This completes the removal of your old exhaust.
Remember to switch the hangers from the old exhaust over to the new one. If they are stuck we recommend using a lubricant. WD40, water, anything will do!
Attach the included reducer so the exhaust will fit to the factory downpipe.
Leave it loose so it will fit over the pipe.
Slip the front of the exhaust onto the downpipe. Attach the rear end with the tabs we put on before.
Re-attach the bolts to secure rear tabs. Pull forward and evenly tighten wrap clamp bolts to 45 ft/lbs.
Make sure the pipe is positioned well and tighten the vband clamp.
Next slip one muffler onto the hanger, then put the vband muffler flange onto the midpipe flange and tighten clamp. We recommend you apply anti seize to threads here.
Repeat the last step for the 2nd muffler.
And you are done!! Make sure everything is snug and tight then sit back and enjoy the shiny new exhaust that is going to sound great!
We performed numerous dyno tests on our exhaust to get the most out of your 2015 EcoBoost Mustang. Check out the resulting power gains: Running without an aftermarket tune or any other mods our exhaust gained 11ft lbs of TQ and 19 whp.
Now check out the sound comparisons, Stock Vs Resonated and Nonresonated.
As you can see and hear this exhaust is really going to make a difference in both tone and power on your car. It is easy to install and looks great.
We feel we've created the best sounding and best performing exhaust upgrade available for the EcoBoost Mustang platform but we'd love to hear what you think too.
