Описание: India has issued its first detailed reaction to the escalating war in West Asia, calling for restraint, diplomacy, and the safety of civilians. The Ministry of External Affairs stated that 'destruction and deaths have mounted' in recent days, with normal life and economic activities coming to a halt. The MEA emphasised that nearly one crore Indian citizens live and work in the Gulf region, and their safety is of utmost priority. The ministry also noted that trade and energy supply chains traverse the region, and any major disruption has serious consequences for the Indian economy. Some Indian nationals have lost their lives or are missing in the war. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached out to leaders of the UAE, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait and Qatar. Congress MP Sonia Gandhi has questioned the government's silence on the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, calling it an abdication rather than neutrality.
