He requested that official vehicles be provided only to those members of the Legislative Assembly who are economically disadvantaged, based on the asset details and financial disclosures submitted in their election affidavits. By submitting a signed letter to the House through the Public Works Department Minister, Stalin requested the government to direct funds towards legislators who truly require official transportation while eliminating avoidable expenses for others. Responding to the submission, Minister EV Velu clarified the government's stance, explaining that the provision of vehicles is a standard institutional protocol designed for all members of the Legislative Assembly. He noted that elected representatives are required to travel extensively across their constituencies to serve over three hundred thousand citizens. Velu stated that providing official transport is not a luxury but a functional requirement to enable lawmakers to execute their duties efficiently, especially for members who do not own personal vehicles or rely on public transport to reach the Assembly. He added that while members with personal cars may choose not to apply, institutional protocols remain uniform for all representatives.
