In this example after the Chi Manipulation moves the attackers back it is apparent that he also becomes disoriented. The ancient monks knew how to do this and the secret was passed down through the centuries. Since they were being hunted down and killed they has to learn basic survival self defense quickly. Obviously they succeded.
This is the first demonstration in the series.
