A beautiful Menuet by the composer Hanni Weinhart, who lived on a farm in Allgaeu/German Alpine region. She lived into her Nieneties and had been composing Zither duets for more than 40 years; some because of happy events but others during sad times in her life. Her compositions are melodious, uncomplicated and easy to play, based on the rich tradition of alpine folkmusic.
I met Hanni in early 2000 and visited her whenever I visited Germany.
I have happy memories of zither afternoons with her and a group of other zither player from the local area always ending with a sumptuous afternoon tea provided by her daughter in the farm house.
