He addressed the physical limitations of traditional large-format analog synthesizers in live environments, explaining why the Eurorack format is particularly well suited for performance. By assembling multiple analog oscillators and modules into a single system, he demonstrated how a wide range of analog sounds can be handled efficiently on stage.

He then introduced patching approaches based on West Coast synthesis concepts, demonstrating how the combination of oscillators, wave shapers, and low-pass gates allows simultaneous control of timbre and dynamics. Through examples using wave shaping, FM modulation, and noise sources, Sakaguchi showed how performers can fluidly move between percussive and synthesized sounds, concluding the lecture with the idea that combining analog and digital equipment enables more stable and flexible live performances.
