Hand tools only – Wooden key box with brass inlays | half blind inlaid dovetail | Woodworking

Описание: Hey everyone, here's a video of my latest “hand tools only” project - a key box.
The body is made of old barrel oak, the lid is made of walnut and zebra wood
(I actually wanted to use maple instead of zebra wood, but changed my mind while building it).
The half-blind inlaid dovetail joint was quite a challenge for me - I've only made two dovetail joints with hand tools before.
Since I love the combination of walnut and brass, I couldn't resist making small bow ties out of brass and inlaying them.
All in all, I'm happy with the project - but if I were to build it again,
I'd opt for a more contrasting wood mix; the elaborate joint doesn't come out as well as I'd hoped :)
