A pontoon with a 150-tonne crane has broken loose from its mooring on the Brisbane River, and is floating down the fast-moving river, potentially threatening popular dining precinct Howard Smith Wharves.
Sky News reporter Claire Todhunter said the precinct has been evacuated and police have set up warning tape around the area, however people are continuing to mill about parks by the river.
