Make Your Own 3D Printed Snap Close Connector

This is a fun little 3D printed afternoon project. I based this design on Kong's Frog clip design that has had its patent expire. It's a popular gadget used for climbing and rescues. The connector was designed in Fusion 360 and it requires no support material. The design uses four 3D printed parts and one DIY torsion spring made from a paperclip. Some hardware is required to join the sides of the connector together. The parts print in about two hours and you probably have the few bits of hardware at home already.

Seriously, don't use one of these to hold any sort of load or in a situation that could injure you or someone else.

3 x M3 x 14 mm screws
3 x 3 mm washers
50 mm paper clip

Printed on Creality Ender 3 Pro and CR-10 3D printers using 3D Fillies PLA+ for the regular sized design with 0.4 mm nozzle at 0.2 layer height (Ender 3) and 0.6 mm nozzle at 0.36 mm layer height (CR-10) for the big one. Parts designed in Fusion360. Shot on Canon EOS M50.
