Losing your ability to work shouldn’t mean losing your dignity — but for many people with disabilities, that’s the reality.
In this second chapter of her story, our Bridge to Home participant opens up about the overwhelming barriers she faced after becoming disabled:
• Being forced to drain her savings just to qualify for disability support
• Facing rental discrimination and being seen as a "liability"
• Struggling to access healthcare without a permanent address
• Navigating internalized stigma while trying to seek help
These are the hidden obstacles that often go unseen — but they are very real for those living at the intersection of disability and homelessness.
