A person is in the hospital after a Sacramento highway shooting Wednesday morning, officials said. A search is on for a vehicle linked to multiple other shootings. A heavy police presence can be seen at Dos Rios and Vine streets by Smythe Academy of Arts and Sciences Middle School in the Dos Rios Triangle. A gray sedan is in front of the campus with its windows blown out. The California Highway Patrol, which is handling the investigation because the shooting was along Highway 160 near Northgate Boulevard, said officers are searching for a gray or white Toyota Tacoma with a rack. CHP said it's investigating reports of other shootings in the south Sacramento area, where the truck is believed to be linked. The gray sedan was the vehicle shot at on Highway 160. After the shooting, the sedan was parked outside of Smythe Academy, where the person shot was later taken to the hospital.
