For more than 50 years, Thomas Built Buses' original plant was home to the iconic Type D transit-style school buses—the Saf-T-Liner® HDX and EFX. Now, we close the chapter on the D Line and take a symbolic and literal step into the future of bus manufacturing.
In this commemorative video, we honor the final HDX/EFX bus to roll off the historic assembly line with a look back at the legacy, the people, and the pride that built it. Featuring interviews with long-time employees, from plant managers to welders to executives, the video captures a moment of transformation—where memories were made, the interior was signed, and the journey forward began.
