Composer's Notes
On Canada Day 2023 an EF4 tornado touched down near the small town of Didsbury, AB. This was one of the strongest recorded tornadoes in the province’s history, tearing down farms and homes, but thankfully claiming no lives. You can watch footage of the storm on youtube.
It is incredible to watch the power and the destruction that can come from such simple elements like wind, heat and water. For the creation of this work, I wanted to likewise use simple musical elements that slowly morph and change, and create their own energy.
