Lafarge Africa has officially partnered with the Lagos State Government and the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) to drive sustainable waste management solutions. This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) marks a significant milestone in our journey towards a cleaner and greener Lagos.
With Lagos generating between 13,000 to 15,000 tonnes of waste daily, this initiative is a crucial step toward achieving zero waste and reducing the state's carbon footprint. Through this partnership, Lafarge will have access to designated dump sites, enabling efficient waste sorting, recycling, and recovery, turning waste into valuable resources.
Beyond environmental benefits, this collaboration will attract further investment, create job opportunities, and support a cleaner, healthier Lagos. The project aligns with global best practices in waste management and underscores Lafarge’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.
