In a detailed breakdown of the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, poll expert Pradeep Gupta pointed out a strong feeling among many NDA (ruling alliance) voters. He said a big group of them hopes that "this time, somehow, the BJP leader will become the Chief Minister." The talk also covered Prashant Kishor's first run in elections with his Jan Suraaj party. Experts agree he might split some votes (acting as a "vote cutter"), but he's not expected to get the 15-20% support needed to turn the race into a three-way fight. Caste plays a huge role, with a survey showing 57% of Bihar voters prefer leaders from their own caste group. On the opposition side, even with Rahul Gandhi's "Bihar Vote Adhikar Yatra" (a march for voting rights), the Congress party is seen as the "weak link" in the big opposition alliance (Mahagathbandhan). Pollster Yashwant Deshmukh said their "vote theft" campaign isn't exciting undecided voters much.
