Welcome to The World House (TWH) in Hillerød, Denmark — a unique community center working with young people and the wider public to tackle challenges such as addiction, pain relief, depression, and anxiety.
The program is led by Stacey Johnson, a Black American who has lived in Denmark for over 30 years.

Known simply as Stacey, he first came to Denmark to play professional basketball after studying in California. While pursuing his dream of becoming a doctor, he also founded The World House to focus on mental health and helping people live better lives.

Through the years, Stacey and TWH have been deeply involved in international projects, writing applications to the Erasmus+ program (and its predecessor Youth in Action) to arrange youth exchanges, seminars, and host European volunteers from across the continent.

Located right next to the historic Frederiksborg Castle, The World House continues to bring people together — blending education, culture, and community to inspire positive change.

World House (TWH) is a community-based association in Hillerød, Denmark, dedicated to supporting young people and the wider community in facing challenges such as addiction, pain management, depression, and anxiety disorders. At the heart of the program is Stacey Johnson, a Black American who has lived in Denmark for over 30 years. Although a doctor by training outside of Scandinavia, Stacey is best known simply as Stacey Johnson—a mentor, coach, and guiding presence for many.

Originally from California, Stacey first came to Denmark to play professional basketball. Alongside his sports career, he pursued his passion for education and mental health, ultimately founding The World House as a safe space for growth, healing, and connection. Over the years, he has written applications to the Erasmus+ program and its predecessor Youth in Action, bringing opportunities for youth exchanges, seminars, and European voluntary participants from across the continent.

Located just steps away from the iconic Frederiksborg Castle, The World House stands as a bridge between cultures, generations, and experiences, with a mission to improve lives and build resilience through community and shared learning.
