You probably didn’t think much about why that happens, you just knew that it felt like you were losing out on money you earned. And over time, people don’t really seem to lose that negative feeling - as a collective, people really hate paying taxes. And there are definitely reasons for that, like the fact that really rich people can pay lower taxes than everyone else - and that there are companies that lobby to make sure that it stays that way. But, there is a reason for taxes - they’re kind of the glue that keeps our society, government and economy running.
