In orthodontic treatment we often use auxiliaries to correct bite discrepancies. One common method is to use a Forsus Spring (bite corrector spring). If an emergency occurs with this appliance call your orthodontist right away. If you cannot get into see them you can attempt to correct at home.
The spring has a upper and lower component and they are connected via male/female connection type. If they come apart you can follow the video instruction to reconnect. This is a challenging at home fix so for your last resort you can tie the spring components to the orthodontic wire with floss until you can get in to see your orthodontist.
