The 1st season of Hazbin Hotel was already good, but the 2nd season really upped the bar. Everything was bigger and better than before, be it characters arcs or storylines, and we can all agree that the biggest improvment of the show was Vox.
In the 1st season Vox was hard to take serious, he was just an angry and petty rival but in a pathetic way, Alastor defeated him there without even doing anything. So I wasn't expecting much from Vox before season 2 came out, but after it is a different story. In season 2 he had an actual goal, actual motives, actual character. He was a mastermind and turned into an actual threat. He used Angel Dust to spy on the hotel without anyone but the Vees knowing it, even Angel was unaware of that fact. Using that info he managed to trap Lucifer knowing he can't fight back against Sinners, and used him as a battery for the weapon he convinced Carmilla Carmine to build for him. Everyone was just helpless against him, even Charlie and Heaven could do barely anything against him, most of the other Overlords and Pantegram City were on his side and the weapon torn a hole through Heaven. Vox almost won in this season but there were two factors that made him fall: his ego and Alastor.
To say Vox's ego in inflated would be an understatment. Back on Earth when he was a human he wasn't satisfied enough with being a weather man so his killed the hosts to take over their position like the news reporter or a gane host, he even killed his own boss to take his position and later created a cult to take over the entire entertaiment industry, which resulted in a TV falling on his head, killing him. His ego only got worse from there as he brainwashed Sinners into buying his products and watching his programs, he even used resources from his partners, Velvette and Valentino, and never truly repayed them. They slowly turned against his ideas and barely helped him. I find it fitting that they're the only to land the finishing blow and defeat him in person, after he pushed them to the edge so much throughout the season.
The 2nd factor was Alastor. In the past Vox offered Al a partnership but Al rejected him, causibg him to extremely spiteful and petty towards him (although to be fair Al did reject in a cruel way), and Vox spends most of his time trying to slandar Al. Al knows that and when he was at his weakest he offered himself as a prisioner to Vox knowing he won't turn away such a deal, but Al gave a condition to not touch Charlie which Vox though it means to not hurt her. Al was constantly feeding Vox's ego in this season, indirectly turning Val and Vel against him, and when Vox was at his peak he broke Al condition and the deal was off, and from that moment Vox started to fall. He lost his approval rating, Al was beating his ass so bad he had to call for outside help and use his heavenly weapon, and the final nail in the coffin was when he was willing to overload the weapon to destroy the city just to spite Al one last time, and you guess it he failed.
Vox was a great villain this season, his unique powers were on full display, Christian Borle gave a phenomenal performance, he had a lot of amazing songs (in my opinion "Brighter" is his best song), he was a real threat. He's still alive, got his head ripped so now he's just a tablet lol, and will return in future seasons, and according to Viv he'll have to learn to be more humble and put his ego aside, so let's see how that goes. Vox is a great villain, that's all.
Making the tribute itself wasn't hard, collecting clips was a nightmare tho. Season 2 has longer episode and Vox appears in most of theur runtime, so recording the screen for every Vox scene took a long time. Also, I totally missed putting the "Bad With Us" song scenes, I just had so much for material to work with so I could find where to fit it. I also used his cameo from the pilot because why not.
No one actually reads this entire movie script so I can safely say this, if Mileena wants to sink her teeth into my flesh and eat it I'll gladly let her.
Alright, next week is gonna be the release of Avatar Fire and Ash, and I'll bring the mascot woman of the franchise, the best Na'vi. I'm so excited for the new movie, I'm gonna watch it in theaters like 5 times minimum.
