Keiki Shorebreak, located on the Oahu's North Shore, is probably the heaviest and most unpredictable slab in Hawaii.
The famous Keiki Shorebreak could easily be the perfect bodyboarding wave spot in the Hawaiian Islands. It's an uncrowded line-up with deep barrels and steep drops.

Paradise, isn't it? The thing is, it hurts.

Keiki Shorebreak has certainly claimed many human bones, even though experienced riders want to get away from it with their hair dry.

The notorious Keiki Shorebreak is known for its TV-friendly smackdowns. This suicidal wave spot is not impossible to ride. Not all hollow rides are close-outs.

Bodyboarders have managed to ride the barrel by catching waves less sandy waves and starting the bottom turn very early, with the board's nose parallel to the shore.

The Keiki Shorebreak won't tell you if you're leaving the pit unharmed. Its random break is a bodyboarding lottery, which you may be willing to accept.

The most important skill to have when challenging the Keiki Shorebreak is the airdrop.

How good you're at it? A wise piece of advice would be to train it before trying the power of the Hawaiian slab.

Puerto Escondido (English: "Hidden Port") is a small port and tourist center in the municipality of San Pedro Mixtepec Distrito 22 in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. Prior to the 1930s, there was no town. The bay had been used as a port intermittently to ship coffee, but there was no permanent settlement due to the lack of potable water. The name "Puerto Escondido" had roots in the legend of a woman who escaped her captors and hid here. The Nahuatl word for this area was Zicatela, meaning “place of large thorns".[1] Today, it refers to the area's most famous beach.[2]

Puerto Escondido is one of the most important tourist attractions on the Oaxacan coast. It caters to a more downscale and eclectic clientele than neighboring Huatulco, mostly surfers, backpackers and Mexican families.[3] The main attractions are the beaches: Zicatela Beach hosts major surfing competitions, while other beaches have gentle waves.[4] A large lagoon area to the west of the town is popular for fishing and birdwatching.[2]

Surfing in South Africa
South Africa cops plenty of swell from antarctic lows and is surrounded by the ocean on three sides (all but the north) which makes for huge surfing possibilities. It's 3 000 km coastline has a 270 degree exposure to the swells that may be on offer, so we are talking about lots and lots of waves. This coastline is swept by two major ocean currents, the warm south-flowing Mozambique-Agulhas Current and the cold Benguela, and every coast is pounded by surf throughout the year.

There are so many world-class surf spots it is just not funny. The surfing world got its first taste in the Endless Summer movie, now South African waves feature on websites and surf magazines the world over.

The massive coast ensures empty waves can be found. Watch out for Sharks!
