0:07 I start out by featuring the three community mosaic mandala sessions we did this week and the progress we made! I have two more sessions scheduled to wrap up the mosaics. There are 15 mosaic mandalas the community is making to install at Spruill Center for the Arts.

3:56 Then, I finally tackle the tempered glass shower door that I've been storing on the side of our house for a YEAR! It is very heavy, so I carefully moved it to the backyard, placed it on a black tablecloth and proceed to clean it until it is sparkling! I use vinegar based cleaner and followed it up with Bar Keeper's Friend to remove any build up on the glass. When it is finally ready, I set my camera to slow-motion and nipped the edge of the door. The glass shattered and I was in a race to pick up the islands before it rained. Everything fit in a large bin and a post office box. I have no plans to use it this week, but now I'm ready! And the door is gone! And it didn't break before I could clean it!

9:38 Next, I switch gears and work on an ATC (Artist Trading Card) to exchange in my classroom. I start by grouting a simple background of white and gray glass. I use Spectralock I premixed grout in Natural Gray. While it is curing, I work on my little design for a vase of sunflowers. No. No. No. I don't really like anything I've made so far. It is time to take a step back and look for some inspiration online. In just a few minutes I have a fresh plan to cram lots of sunflowers onto the tiny ATC. Starting with Apoxie Sculpt, I use it to adhere the ceramic vase and for the centers of the sunflowers. The clock it ticking to bead the Apoxie before it hardens, so I cram the beads on without much precision. Using scraps from all my recent sunflower projects, I start adding petals. At this scale, I did nip the scrap feather cuts into smaller pieces before adding. Starting with the flower in front, I stand up some of the glass and end up adding dimension all over the place. Before I know it, the Sunflower ATC is finished!
