Incredible Encounter with Mountain Gorillas in Uganda

Описание: We have been very fortunate within the last few years and have been on many incredible adventures but gorilla trekking in Uganda went straight to the top of our list. It had been on our travel bucket list for many year and it was everything we had expected and more.

This adventure started with a drive from Kampala to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest were we stayed at the beautiful Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp. This is a high end luxury camp located inside the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park just a few meters from the gorilla information center where the gorilla trekking starts. This safari camp had the most comfortable bed ever, delicious meals and excellent service. It is one of the only camp located inside the national park and definitely the nicest one.

Our gorilla trekking day started with a brief where we learned about the gorilla conservation in addition to all the rules that have to be followed during the encounter with the mountain gorillas. From there we started our trek inside the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest which is simply stunning. One of the most beautiful hike of my life. After about one hour of hiking, we met with the trackers, a team of ranger who left very early in the morning to located the mountain gorilla family we were assigned.

Upon arrival to their location, all 16 of them were located at the top of a very tall tree and it was pretty tricky at that point to see the gorillas. But after about half an hour, one gorilla made her way down before the two family leader, older silverback gorillas climbed down which lead to all of them coming down. This experience is still hard for us to describe. It was so special to have these beautiful primates walking around us and interacting with us. And we got lucky has this family had a very young baby gorilla of about one year old. This little guy made this gorilla trekking experience even better.
