Описание: Åsöberget is a mountain and an area located in the district Södermalm in Stockholm . Here, together with Djurgårdsstaden , is the most extensive and cohesive wooden building in Stockholm. The area has since 1956 been a cultural reserve owned and managed by AB Stadsholmen . The houses are blue-marked by the City Museum in Stockholm , which means "that the buildings are judged to have extremely high cultural-historical values".
Most houses have a floor plan. The roofs are covered with tiles. The houses are clad on the outside with red-painted wood paneling. Plank ran between the houses, for example on Lotsgatan . [ 2 ] Until the 17th century, the area largely consisted of gardens and farms, including Hedberg's ore farm . Several gardeners inhabited the area. The settlements on the outskirts of the then city were sparse. On Petrus Tillaeus' map from 1733, only one house, probably the gardener's, is drawn in the neighborhood. Many of the families who lived on Sågargatan , Lotsgatan , Skeppargränd , Åsögatanand other smaller streets on Åsöberget were shipyard workers at Södra varvet . Other professions related to shipping were also represented. Åsöberget was considered one of the city's poorest and most miserable areas. During the housing crisis at the end of the 19th century, poor people were crowded into the small cottages, which were torn to shreds.
