Summary
UPS2976 was a scheduled cargo flight from Louisville Muhammad Ali Int'l Airport, Louisville, KY to Inouye In'tl Airport, Honolulu, HI on November 4, 2025. The aircraft operating was a 34 year old McDonnell Douglas MD-11F with the registration N259UP. There were only 3 crew members on board. They consisted of:

Accident
At 5:13 EST, UPS2976 was cleared for takeoff. As the aircraft accelerated, the left number one engine detached causing a fire to occur. The left wing the struck a warehouse and inverted and crashed into a scrapyard killing all 3 pilots and as of November 8th, 11 on the ground for a total of 14 fatalities thus far.
