Etching presses are expensive and difficult to come by for a lot of people, but there are ways to build your own inexpensively so that you can print at home or while travelling, whether you're an experienced printmaker or someone who wants to try it out. Etching presses also take up a lot of room, so if you live in a small space, this is a great space saving alternative.
In this video, I show you how to build a miniature etching press using a pasta machine and a sheet of 6.5mm plywood. This build also incorporates a lid that includes a piece of perspex so that it doubles as an inking bench.
