বিরলের 'কলা বাদুড়' | Flying Fox

Описание: আমাদের দেশে কলা বাদুড় বা Indian Flying Fox এর সবচাইতে বড় দল বা কলোনিটি দেখতে চাইলে আপনাকে যেতে হবে দিনাজপুর জেলার বিরল উপজেলায়।

বাংলাদেশের সর্বত্র কলা বাদুড় দেখা গেলেও এদের বড় বড় কলোনি গুলো দেখতে পাওয়া যায় দিনাজপুর জেলায়। এখানকার শতবছর পুরানো বটগাছ গুলি দীর্ঘদিন যাবত এই প্রজাতির উপযুক্ত আবাসস্থল হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়ে আসছে। বট গাছরে পাশাপাশি আম, শিমুল, কড়ই ইত্যাদি গাছেওদিনের বেলা এরা বিশ্রাম নেয় |


The largest colony of Indian flying fox in Bangladesh can be found in Birol Upazila in Dinajpur. Even if they are present throughout Bangladesh, all the large colonies are found in Dinajpur. The century old banyan trees here are supporting these colonies. Additionally, the mango, shimul, and koroi trees are also home to these bats.

Birol Upazila is 12 km west of Dinajpur district headquarter. Here in a century old graveyard, one can find the largest bat colony.
Prof. Mostafa Feeroz and Prof. Kamrul Hasan from Jahangirnagar University researching these bat colonies and recorded more than three thousand bats.
