आज लोहड़ी है, कल मकर संक्रांति है. इस दौरान देश के कई हिस्सों में पंतग उड़ाने का रिवाज है. गुजरात में तो काइट फेस्टिवल चल रहा है. लेकिन पगंतबाजी की ये परपंरा चाइनीज मांझे के कारण अब जानलेवा साबित हो रही है. हालांकि चाइनीज मांझे की बिक्री और इस्तेमाल पर रोक है. लेकिन इसके बाद भी चाइनीज मांझे खुलेआम बिक रहा है. चाइनीज मांझे के कारण मध्य प्रदेश, तेलंगाना और गुजरात से लोगों की मौत की खबरें आईं हैं. बहुत से लोग गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गए. इंदौर में चाइनीज मांझे से पिछले सात दिन के अंदर दो लोगों का गला कट गया. दोनों की मौत हो गई, जबकि 8 से ज्यादा लोग बुरी तरह घायल हो गए. इंदौर में रविवार को रघुवीर धाकड़ अपनी बाइक से जा रहे थे. तभी चाइनीज मांझा उनकी गर्दन में फंसा और उनका गला कट गया. कट गहरा था. ज्यादा खून बह गया. इसलिए हॉस्पिटल पहुंचने से पहले ही रघुवीर धाकड़ की मौत हो गई. उनके परिवार वालों ने पुलिस प्रशासन से पंतगबाजी पर रोक लगाने की मांग की है.

Reports of deaths due to Chinese manjha have come from Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Gujarat. Many people have also been seriously injured. In Indore, two people had their throats cut by Chinese manjha in the last seven days. Both died, while more than eight others were seriously injured. On Sunday in Indore, Raghuveer Dhakad was riding his motorcycle when a Chinese manjha got entangled around his neck, cutting his throat. The cut was deep, and he bled profusely. Raghuveer Dhakad died before reaching the hospital. His family has demanded that the police and administration ban kite flying.
