Описание: Have you ever marvelled at a self-playing organ and wondered what goes on behind the scenes? Well, we hope this video answers some of your questions! A Dance Organ, not to be confused with a Fairground Organ, is - as the term would suggest - a type of self-playing music machine which saw its heyday in continental Europe. The organ showcased here (named "Jeanneke" after its original location) was manufactured in the early 1950s by the renowned firm of Gebroeders Decap in Antwerp, Belgium and represents a smaller and more vibrant type of organ specifically manufactured for use in cafes and roadhouses, equipped with all the latest gimmicks - including colour-changing lighting and an extensive range of percussion effects. The organ operates off of cardboard books which are effectively "read" by a series of metal levers, or keys, that raise when perforations occur in the card. Contained on these cardboard books is an extensive repertoire of lively toe-tapping dance melodies, mainly reflective of the organ's time of manufacture, although the customisable nature of these books means that this organ is effectively capable of playing anything.
