Dozens of spectators gathered in an observatory in Manila on Tuesday (March 3) to catch a rare glimpse of a "blood moon" total lunar eclipse.
People queued in front of a telescope to watch the lunar spectacle up close.
A total lunar eclipse occurs when Earth moves between the sun and the moon, casting its shadow across the lunar surface.
During the event, the moon can take on a red or copper tint as sunlight passing through Earth’s atmosphere is filtered and bent into the deepest part of the shadow.
