Diving Into HMCS Saskatchewan – A 7-Minute Run Through Burma Road

Описание: Explore the interior of the HMCS Saskatchewan in this 7-minute wreck penetration dive filmed in crisp 4K. This video takes you down Burma Road, a corridor running through the ship, with only the sound of bubbles and the ambient silence of the deep.

Do NOT attempt wreck penetration without the proper training and equipment. This is an advanced dive, only attempt after acquiring the proper certifications.

The HMCS Saskatchewan (DDE 262) was a Canadian Navy destroyer escort launched in 1961, commissioned in 1963, and decommissioned in 1994. It is 366 feet long. In 1997, she was intentionally sunk off the coast of Nanaimo, British Columbia by the Artificial Reef Society of British Columbia (ARSBC) to serve as an artificial reef and scuba diving attraction. The wreck lies in about 130 feet of water off Snake Island near Nanaimo, BC. The majority of the dive is between 80 to 100 feet deep depending on what you'd like to see.

Today, the wreck lies at approximately 130 feet (40 meters) and is home to an abundance of marine life including plumose anemones, lingcod, rockfish, and the occasional wolf eel.
