A lawyer representing postmasters claimed an email revealed that bosses intended to put barriers in place to prevent postmasters from making claims for compensation under the Horizon Shortfall Scheme (HSS).
In the email from January 2020, an executive told the company’s general counsel he could limit the number of applications by having “very tight eligibility criteria”, including “requirements in terms of the documentation applicants have to provide in order to be accepted”.
