Just like in many other countries, gold ownership for Egyptian families is a form of investment and just a luxurious accessory. According to a World Gold Council report, demand for gold in Egypt rose by 83% in 2022 as the Egyptian pound hit record lows against the dollar and inflation rose sharply.
