Smashing Moneyboxes

Описание: The two lovely moneyboxes I have shown you today are decorative ceramic savings pots from the "Smash Pot" or "Save, Smash, Spend" style trend.
The first one is shaped like a vintage wine bottle, coloured pale cream with white polka dots, and has an elegant shape: This wishes & Dreams Money Pot has a lot going for it. The frount of the Pot has Finest saving fund written on it. It has two tags secured around the neck of the bottle. The first tells how to get the money out. It's suggests the bottle is wrapped in a cloth, then hit with a hammer until it breaks and the coins collected from the debris. Then the broken bottle is disposed of. The second tag explains that you should write your dream and/or wish on it, then put it in slot, where it will remain until the pot is full. When smashed the tag will act as a reminder of what you wanted to spend your savings on.
The second moneybox is a classic urn-style .It's designed to look as if it's lid can be removed but in fact it is a single piece. It's cream-colored, with large silver lettering that reads "Wishes & Dreams. "It's a perfect “Save and Smash Money Pot”. It's label tells you how to smash it and and that it was made for the the company B&M.
Neither of these moneyboxes has ever held Money in them. They were bought by two different people for my birthday in 2005. which was the very early beginning of the rise of the Save and smash Money box. This style is still around today. But has lost a lot of it's early popularity These are typically made by companies like:
East of India,
Pot of Dreams
Sass & Belle
Or unbranded. Made-for-gift-shop items. They're often marketed as sentimental or motivational savings tools. They are popular for gift-giving occasions, such as Birthdays, Christmas, Births, Christenings, Graduations and weddings. I have many of this design and it is a very rare that I put even one coin in and that is the way I like it.
